The City of Doral is currently home to five Miami-Dade County Public Schools: John I. Smith K-8 Center, Eugenia B. Thomas K-8 Center, Dr. Rolando Espinosa K-8 Center, Dr. Toni Bilbao Preparatory Academy, and Ronald W. Reagan/Doral Senior High School.
As the population in our city continues to increase, so has the need for more schools. That is why we have plans for new schools in the City of Doral. One of these will be a much needed high school which is set to open for the 2020-2021 school year. The second of these will be a brand new K-8 Center scheduled to open its door January 2020.
With the opening of our two new schools, we must also make changes to ensure that we are appropriately accommodating all our students, one of these is attendance boundary changes. Attendance boundaries determine your child’s “home” school according to where you live. I encourage all parents and interested community members to stay informed and attend the community meetings taking place on this important issue as your input is not only welcome, but vital in this process.
