School Board Referendum Approved with Outstanding Support

On November 6th, the voters of Miami-Dade County approved the School Board Referendum with 71.14 percent of votes cast. The approval of the referendum by voters will generate revenue for teacher salaries and additional safety and security.

This vote is recognition of the outstanding work of our teachers and the confidence placed in our own Schools Police to protect and secure our schools. It is also an acknowledgement of the trust placed in the leadership of our school district at every level.

As your School Board Member, I am proud of what we have accomplished as a school system and as a community and I want to thank all of those who supported this effort. Your support ensures that Miami-Dade County Public Schools can provide teachers with a compensation package that honors the remarkable work done in our schools each day; and that a school resource officer will be present at all of our schools. Because of you, our future has been secured.
