A new edition of the DCPA is now open to all who live or work in Doral.
This is an 8-week program designed to acquaint individuals who are not sworn police officers with the activities of police department. The DCPA provides an opportunity for citizens to receive classroom and field training regarding the various responsibilities facing the officers. The attendees are given a tour of the police station; participate in traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, crime scene processing and evidence gathering presentations; witness up-close demonstrations by the K-9 and Motor Unit; spend a day with the highly trained Defensive Driving and Firearms Instructors; experience first-hand how to conduct traffic stops and much more.
DCPA will take place on Thursday nights beginning May 9, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Doral Police Training and Community Center, located at 3719 NW 97th Ave., Doral.
There will be a light dinner at 6:15 p.m. prior to the start of class. Space is limited. Must be 18 years-old or older to participate.
