In January I had the honor of representing the City of Doral at the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) 88th Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C. The USCM is the official non-partisan organization of cities with a population of 30,000 or larger that meets annually, allowing Mayors to discuss priorities that contribute to the overall health of America’s cities.
This conference is an invaluable opportunity to connect with national leaders and learn best practices that to bring back and implement in our communities for the betterment of our residents’ lives. As one of the best places to live in the country, I was very proud to attend and highlight the great work we’re doing in Doral. Our City was even one of the 20 featured in the “2020 Mayors Economic Mobility Report”.
Some of the sessions I attended while there tackled vital topics such as: small business and entrepreneurship best practices, managing new transportation technologies and services, and lessons learned for preventing, preparing and responding to mass shootings. The conference culminated with a visit to the White House for “A Discussion on Transforming America’s Communities”.
