A new fiscal year

Hello Neighbor,

On October 1st the City kicked off a new fiscal year, meaning the start of a new budget that strategically puts your dollars to work for you. This budget addresses our growing needs while remaining fiscally responsible.

Our top priority continues to be the safety and wellbeing of our residents, businesses and visitors. That’s why the biggest portion of the budget (41%) is going towards our Police Department. This will be used to hire more sworn police officers, increasing presence and outreach.

We’re also investing in critical infrastructure, funding projects to connect and improve roads, add sidewalks, and beautify our City.

This budget is based on a 1.9 millage rate, which is the 2nd lowest millage rate in the entire County. It’s important to note that only about 12% of your taxes come to the City of Doral. About 44% goes to Miami-Dade County and 40% to Miami-Dade Schools.

This budget demonstrates our continued commitment to provide the highest level of service in the most efficient and effective way.
