87th Annual Meeting – United States Conference of Mayors

Hello Neighbor,

I hope everyone is having a great summer!

As we all know, even during these months it’s important that we continue to learn and grow for the betterment of the community. That’s why I’ve just attended the United States Conference of Mayors Annual Meeting from June 28th to July 1st, along with more than 250 of the nation’s mayors.

There, we engaged in discussions on a wide variety of priorities that contribute to the overall health of America’s cities, as well as consider and adopt the policy resolutions that guide the advocacy agenda of the organization.

Several important sessions also took place on a range of issues, including immigration, trade, affordable housing, the 2020 Census, jobs and climate. Many of these issues directly affect our community and are matters that City leadership continues to work towards finding innovative solutions for.

As one of the best places to live in the country, as voted on by Money Magazine, and an All-America City Silver Recipient, it was an honor for me to represent Doral and highlight the great work we’re doing. This conference proved an invaluable opportunity to connect with national leaders and learn best practices that we can bring back and implement in our communities for the advancement of our residents’ lives.
